Rent-by-the-Room Insurance

Renting out bedrooms separately โ€” co-living, rooming houses, student housing by the room โ€” needs coverage most standard landlord policies won't write. NREIG built a program for it: premises liability up to $1M per occurrence ($2M total) with medical expenses included, plus $60K in tenant liability per location for fire, explosion, and smoke damage (a $500 deductible applies). You can add contents and loss-of-rents coverage if you want them. It's built for single-family properties only, and it isn't available if you live on the property.

What NREIG’s Program Covers

  • Who itโ€™s for Co-living and rooming-house rentals where each bedroom is leased separately.

  • Optional add-ons Contents coverage and loss-of-rents coverage are both available.

NREIG confirms exact eligibility for your property when you request a proposal.
