What Event Insurance Covers
Special-events general liability answers one question a venue asks every host: if someone is hurt or something is damaged at your event, who pays? The policy responds to third-party bodily injury and property damage claims, such as a guest's fall, a damaged floor, or a knocked-over display, and pays the legal defense as well as the settlement, up to the limit you choose.
Two things it does not do: it does not refund deposits if the event is cancelled (that is cancellation insurance), and it does not automatically cover alcohol you sell. If there is a cash bar or ticketed drinks, ask whether liquor liability is included or available before you bind.
