Finding a reputable life insurance company with an affordable rate can seem down right nauseating.

And finding out there is a term life insurance with no medical exam product from AAA, probably made your purchasing decision easier.

But the truth is that they don't have the best rates and have a limited amount of death benefit options.

aaa term life insurance no medical exam

In this post today, I am going to do a mini showdown and compare the AAA term life insurance with no medical exam product to the Bestow life insurance product.

In This Article

Why No Exam Term Life Insurance?

The worst thing about buying life insurance is the long and drawn out underwriting process.

You have to deal with exams, medical records and telephone interviews; however, the no exam simplified issue products have completely put that process to rest.

You can get a no medical exam term life insurance policy super fast without a waiting period and at an affordable price.

The price difference for a policy with an exam use to be huge, but with recent technological updates in the life insurance space, that gap has decrease substantially.

The better these products become, the more companies will start to offer them, check out this battle between two heavy hitters in the life insurance no exam company space.

Who Is AAA?

While I am sure you probably know who AAA is, you probably just found out they sold life insurance, check out our quick overview of them below:

About AAA Life Insurance

In 1969, AAA Life Insurance Company became a part of AAA, offering life insurance and annuity products.

Headquartered in Livonia, Michigan, AAA Life is owned by several of the largest entities in the AAA organization.

AAA Life Insurance Company has an A.M. Best rating of A (Excellent) as of August 2018.

This reflects their financial strength and positive outlook for the future.

Product Features

  • Available for ages 18 through 75
  • Coverage amounts from $25,000 to $250,000
  • 25 & 30 Year Term Options Available
  • Not Available in NY
  • Tobacco & Non Tobacco Rates
  • E-Signature
  • No Waiting Period
  • Accelerated Underwriting

Optional Added Coverage

Accidental Death - Pays out an additional amount of coverage if death is caused by an accident.

Children Term Rider - Up to $20,000 in Term Life Insurance coverage for your kids.

Simply Insurance Thinks

AAA Life insurance has a very fast process and a few added benefits for people that are already members such as "Waiving the Annual Fee". However, they have the highest rates and their coverage amount is limited to only $250,000.  We are seeing clients go from application to approval within 10 to 15 minutes.

As you can see, both companies are pretty well rounded and have their pro's and con's when it comes to different benefits.

We compare them below:

Comparing Their Coverage Options

Term Length Options

Bestow - Currently Bestow offers a 2, 10, and 20 year term option.

These different options cover you for both short term and long term life insurance situations.

They are the only company that offers a 2 year term, it was created specifically for the purposes of getting coverage for now while you figure out your future plans.

I will say; however, I wish they had a 30 year option available.

AAA - At the moment, AAA offers a  10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 year term option.

While they don't really offer anything for short term, they absolutely can cover you for any term lenght you think you may need.

Term Length Winner:  When it comes to the term length options I am going to have to give this win to AAA.

Death Benefit Options

Bestow - Bestow offers up to $1 Million dollars in life insurance coverage with no exam and no waiting period.

The are one of the only companies that offers this amount of coverage with no exam, you are either approved or declined.

AAA - While AAA offers better term length options, they fail in comparison with death benefit options.

They only offer up to $250,000 in coverage for a no-exam policy.

Death Benefit Winner: When it comes to the death benefit options Bestow wins this hands down.

Additional Riders

Bestow - Currently Bestow doesn't offer any additional riders

AAA - Currently AAA offers a Child Term Rider and Accidental Death Benefit At an additional cost.

If you are a AAA member there is also a savings of $60 per year with the waiver of the annual policy fee.

Additional Riders Winner: AAA wins this because Bestow doesn't have any additional riders.

Overall Winner

When it comes to product benefits AAA does have more options; however, they lack substantially when it comes to being able to choose a death benefit amount.

Also, when you are getting a quote it doesn't allow you to choose the additional options to see what your final rate will be.

And then there is the small part about saving if you are a AAA member, I don't like the idea of having to become a member to receive the best rate.

I would have to call this a Tie.

Application & Underwriting Speed

There is absolutely no other product in the market with a faster application and approval process.

I have seen customers get a quote, apply, and purchase coverage in under 5 minutes.

You are either going to be approved or declined, there is no in-between which makes this a true simplified issue no exam product.

While AAA claims to be fully no exam, their disclaimer reads "...but if more information is needed, a quick medical exam can be completed at a time and place that is convenient for you."

This means there is a possibility of an exam being required.

Overall Winner

The overall winner of application speed is going to to Bestow.  There just isn't any process faster in the market today.

Their Monthly Premiums / Quotes

One of the most important parts of a life insurance policy is going to be pricing.  How much will I be charged per month.

I am sure you can't believe your eyes, but it is completely accurate, the AAA rates are almost double the price of the rates for Bestow.

When it comes to monthly premiums of course, Bestow is the clear winner.

The Final Say

While both companies are a great option in regards to financial strength, there is only one true answer when it comes to purchasing a no exam life insurance policy.

That is Bestow, as you saw above, not only is their underwriting and approval process super fast, their rates are much more affordable than AAA.
